The Design Your Own Complete allows you to custom design a skateboard complete to your exact specifications then our expert skate technicians professionally assemble your complete so when it arrives your skateboard is ready to ride.

The character at the beginning screen of the DYOC is created at random so with each new visit your character will change. Look to your character’s speech bubble to determine what to do next. He/She will help you along the way in what to do next and will accompany you through the entire process.

Sit back on the couch and watch a skate video it’s time to get stoked for your new complete!

STEP 1: CHOOSE A PACKAGE

The Design Your Own Complete here after referred to as DYOC allows you to choose between three packages which are accessible front the front page of the DYOC. They are located on the sandwich board in the lower right hand corner of the skate shop. Choose your package by rolling over the SILVER, GOLD, or PLATINUM package and clicking on the package that suits your needs.

STEP 2: LOADING PACKAGE…

FAQ: How do I know what components are in what package? For example I want a Zero deck.
ANS: The fun part about the DYOC is navigating through the packages and learning what package fits your style. You can UPGRADE and ADD-ON to any package!

If you really must know how the packages are laid out then see below to help you determine what packages suits you best:

*Remember you can upgrade trucks and bearings and include add-ons at every package level!

STEP 3: CHOOSE YOUR FAVORITE DECK

With your mouse you are able to navigate forward and backward at the bottom of the screen through the selection of available decks by clicking the RED right-facing arrow next to “page 1 of…” text.  To learn the width and length of the deck you can hover (mouse-over) the deck. If you choose not to get a complete remember that all single decks come with FREE Iron Horse grip tape. You can select your own grip tape later in the DYOC if you choose to get a complete. Once you have found the deck you would like to have in your complete simply click on the deck to add it to your package and it will appear on the skate case and you will be taken to the truck section. Your deck will also be added to the PARTS LIST.

FAQ: I chose the wrong part(s) what do I do?
ANS: You can edit your parts at anytime by clicking on the PARTS LIST downward-facing RED arrow.

i.                    To EDIT your PARTS LIST. You must have first selected an item. Once you have selected an item it will load into the PARTS LIST. To edit, click on the downward-facing RED arrow to open the PARTS LIST. To remove an item uncheck the red checked box, then click the red CONTINUE button at the bottom right hand corner of the PARTS LIST. This will take you back to the product page you unchecked.

ii.                  To VIEW the items in your PARTS LIST. Using your mouse, click and hold the right 2-way RED arrow then navigate up or down using your mouse.

STEP 4: CHOOSE YOUR FAVORITE TRUCKS

Since you have now chosen your deck you should be looking at the trucks. The trucks are displayed in a wooden skate case with a YELLOW handle that is located on the right side of the wooden case to scroll up and down through the shelves of the skate case. To learn more about your trucks you can hover (mouse-over) the trucks. To add the trucks to your package simply click on the truck of your choice. Your truck selection will be added to the skate case and to the PARTS LIST. Remember that you can always UPGRADE your trucks at the end of the DYOC.

FAQ: I only chose one truck what happened?
ANS:We will automatically add TWO trucks to your package so it is not necessary to select two trucks. Also, note that you will receive two of the same trucks and you cannot select two different trucks.

STEP 5: CHOOSE YOUR FAVORITE WHEELS

It is now time to select your WHEELS. You can navigate through the wheels in the same manner as the trucks by clicking, holding, and moving your mouse up and down on the YELLOW handle. To learn more about the wheels you can hover (mouse-over) the wheels. To select the wheels simply click on the wheel. The wheel should now appear in the skate case and in your parts list and you are now being taken to the bearings.

FAQ: What does “mm” mean next to the wheel description?
ANS:“mm” stands for millimeters and this is important because it determines the height of your wheels. Street & park wheels are generally less than 56mm’s and ramp & cruising wheels are generally over 56mm.

STEP 6: CHOOSE YOUR BEARINGS.

How fast do you want to go? The bearings displayed in the case are the bearings that come with the package. Remember you can always upgrade your bearings at the end of the DYOC. Navigate, select, and learn more about your bearings in the same manner for the trucks and wheels.

FAQ: What does ABEC mean?
ANS:  Bearings rated under the ABEC system are typically called "precision bearings", and they are rated with a number from 1 to 9, with the higher number referring to a higher standard of precision.

STEP 7: CHOOSE YOUR HARDWARE

Choose your HARDWARE to bolt down your trucks. Click on the hardware image of choice to add to the skate case and PARTS LIST.

FAQ: How long of hardware do I need?
ANS:Even with risers any hardware you choose will fit perfectly!

STEP 8: CHOOSE YOUR GRIP TAPE

Finally get some GRIP TAPE, click on the grip tape image to add to the skate case and PARTS LIST. Again, you can hover (mouse-over) for a product description.

FAQ: My grip tape is dirty how do I clean it?
ANS:Get yourself some grip gum sold in the ADD-ON section of the DYOC and don’t use water!

Your skateboard is complete. Your character that greeted you at the beginning should now say: 

“YOUR BOARD IS COMPLETE! Now you can add it to your cart or wish list OR…choose from upgrades to make your board even better.”

Displayed will be your total price, the price without bundling the parts into a package, and how much you saved!

FAQ: I want to build another complete!
ANS:You can only build one complete at a time so you can either do one of the seven options below or click “START OVER” right above your character’s head.

You now you have 7 options. You can:

• Upgrade your bearings
• Add-On bushings and/or risers
• Add-On Accessories
• Edit your PARTS LIST
• Add to Wish List
• ADD TO CART

FAQ: How do I get back to the Zumiez.com home page?
ANS:In the upper left hand corner click the “<GO HOME” text button.

UPGRADES

STEP 1: CLICK ON THE UPGRADE POSTER

STEP 2: Click on the part that you wish to upgrade to or click the left-facing RED NO THANKS button go back.

*Note that if you make an upgrade that changes the cost of your package an ORANGE “UPGRADED!” tag will be added to the poster.

FAQ: How do I get back to my remove my upgrade trucks and/or bearings and choose the trucks I initially chose?
ANS:Open your PARTS LIST and uncheck the item that you wish to change. The DYOC will automatically return you to the item section that you unchecked.

ADD-ON BUSHINGS, RISERS, & ACCESSORIES

STEP 1: CLICK ON THE ADD-ON POSTER
STEP 2: Click on item that you wish to add to your package. Once you click on the item a message will appear underneath your mouse that reads “ADDED TO PARTS LIST” which means you have successfully added this item to your PARTS LIST.

FAQ: How do I remove the item(s) that I have added to my package?
ANS:Click on the downward-facing RED arrow to open and edit your PARTS LIST. You can uncheck the items that you have added click the BLUE UPDATE TOTAL button to update your package price. Then click CONTINUE to proceed.
