The story of GoPro
When Founder and CEO Nick Woodman came up with the idea for GoPro, he never imagined that a little wrist camera would one day turn into what GoPro is now, for so many people across the world. Nick started GoPro out of his 1970s Volkwagon bus, surfing the California coast and developing ideas of the GoPro Hero. According to Nick, the idea behind the GoPro camera was to make it easy to capture insane video of the most exciting moments of your life.
Nick and his team have developed a way for atheletes and action sport enthusiasts to capture video of themselves rather than having another person shoot them. This not only makes it easier to catch the footage that possibly no one else is around to see (at all), but also gives that amazing first person point-of-view, or a close up shot of the rider (you!) with an amazing background.
Whether you're surfing, skiing, snowboarding, dirt biking, drifting, skydiving, base jumping, kayaking, or skateboarding, the GoPro can mount to you or your equpitment and document your life's exciting adventures.
The GoPro Hero HD along with GoPro helmets, chest mounts, and board mounts all assist you in capturing the most extreme footage possible. GoPro has created and is developing more technology for this purpose, such as combining two GoPro Heros to create the GoPro 3D Hero system that makes 3D HD videos (holy smoke!).
The thing that Nick Woodman is most excited about is how GoPro has made it possible for the world to document, share, and communicate the most insane events of their lives with one another. The GoPro Hero brings the world's extreme outdoors to the web and TV screen so we can experience it all together.
Zumiez proudly carries GoPro gear, like the GoPro Hero2, a high-definition, full-wearable action camera.
