The story of Habitat Skateboards
Habitat Skateboards was created in 1999 and operates under DNA Distribution. The Habitat label is also a sister brand to Alien Workshop Skateboards and Reflex Bearings. Burton, the innovative mastermind and industry leader in snowboarding, acquired DNA Distribution in February 2008.
During its start up in 2000, Habitat Skateboards quickly formalized a team of five amateurs that were on their way to establishing solid professional skate careers, some of whom have continued to remain loyal to Habitat Skateboards throughout the years. Along the way, Habitat added more elite team riders, which helped position them as a true skate industry threat.
Habitat Skateboards are a forward thinking company that incorporates unique global tours, innovative skateboard design, and the evolution of their elite professional and amateur skate team. Habitat has created a brand image that is organically art and design inspired.
