A simple college graduation trip to Costa Rica unexpectedly turned into a once-in-a-lifetime business endeavor for two friends, Griffin Thall and Paul Goodman. After meeting two local bracelet peddlers, Jorge and Joaquin, who were selling a plethora of vibrantly colored handmade bracelets, Griffin and Paul purchased 400 to take back to the U.S. and sell. The bracelets were dispersed to local California boutiques and shops. Because of their simplicity and uniqueness, the bracelets quickly sold out and people requested more. The demand rose and a business relationship was formed between the four men.

Pura Vida Bracelets is now a well-known company worldwide. The phrase "Pura Vida" means Pure Life in Spanish.
