REBEL8

REBEL8 was created in 2003 by Joshy D. and Mike Giant. Having met back in the early 90's - through their involvement in the San Francisco graffiti scene - the two hit it off and a strong friendship was formed. At that time, Joshy D. ran HiFiArt (a popular graffiti website), while Mike Giant was one of San Francisco's most well-known writers.

In 2003, Joshy approached Mike with an idea: with only $500 of capital, this duo of do-it-yourselfers would hand-illustrate and sell a small run of screen printed t-shirts in the city streets. Selling out quickly, it was clear that they had created something that really spoke those living out lifestyles inspired by graffiti, skating, and tattoos. It was at this moment that the REBEL8 clothing line was born.

Today, the REBEL8 team still generates most of their graphics through hand-illustrations, with no help from computer-generated enhancements or manipulations.
