ZUMIEZ: How does it feel to be back on your board after your injury?
It feels really good to be back on the board after the injury. I have been back for maybe a year now, and I was out for about a year. It took me about 6 months of skating to fully get back into it, and become comfortable to jump down stuff again.
ZUMIEZ: How did it feel coming out with two video parts this year?
Alec Majerus: I am really stoked on being able to come out with two video parts this year, after being hurt because I was doing nothing for about a year you know? So I feel like I had to try my hardest for these two video parts.
ZUMIEZ: What was your favorite video part in Holy Stokes?
ALEC MAJERUS: My favorite video part in Holy Stokes was Louie's part, because Louie is the bro and he killed it. It was really cool to see all of his footage because there were a lot of trips this year that I wasn't on, and so it was cool to see it come out because I was like, "What! You did that?! You never even told me about that." So that was really cool.
ZUMIEZ: How important are AM competitions in the Midwest?
Alec Majerus: It is really important that there are contests in the Midwest because it is a lot harder I feel like to come from the Midwest. On the west coast, that is kind of where skateboarding is, so it is easier to meet everybody and get noticed, but from the Midwest, I mean skating contests is really important. Everyone is going to see you, so I think it is really important that people skate contests and that contests are brought to Midwest.
ZUMIEZ: What was skating Zumiez Best Foot Forward like for you?
Alec Majerus: Yeah, I used to skate Best Foot Forward like every year. It was one of the funner contests. We would go up to Minneapolis, and skate that contest every year, and it was all really fun, there were always so many good people there. It was a really good way to get noticed, and to get a lot of product. If you did good in the contest you would win so much stuff. So we were always really excited for that contest.
