Guy Mariano also co-founded Royal Trucks and Fourstar Clothing. Throughout his career Guy Mariano had a variety of ground breaking roles that quickly launched him to stardom, making him one of the most memorable skateboarders.
Born in 1976 Guy Mariano started skateboarding when he was 7 years old. A the ripe age of 13 he had his first video part in sponsor Powell Peralta’s “Ban This” in 1989, where at a young age he was doing technical tricks that were even challenging for pros. Two years later he had a role in Blind Skateboard’s “Video Days”, still a favorite among fans and professionals alike. One of Guy Mariano’s most memorable roles was in 1996 in Girl Skateboard’s “Mouse” and quickly became one of the most talked about role at the time. Shortly after Girl Skateboard’s “Mouse” Guy Mariano took a hiatus from skateboarding, and was commonly known for disappearing for months at a time before returning. In 2007 Guy Mariano had a return role in Lakai Footwear’s “Fully Flared” followed by the documentary “Epicly Later’d” where he talks about some of the personal struggles he faced throughout his career in and out of the spotlight. Since returning to skateboarding Guy Mariano was featured on the Berrics website in his Battle Commander video, and had his most recent role in Girl Skateboard and Chocolate’s collaboration video “Pretty Sweet”.
Outside of his roles in skateboard cinema, Guy Mariano is a co-owner of two different companies, Fourstar Clothing and Royal Trucks. In 1996 Guy Mariano teamed up with fellow Girl teammate Eric Koston to create a line of clothing specific to skateboarding. At the time Guy Mariano and Eric Koston did not have clothing sponsors, so they decided to create their own company. In the following year Guy Mariano co-founded Royal Trucks with Rudy Johnson. Today both Fourstar Clothing and Royal Trucks currently produce and sell products as well as sponsor a variety of professionals. Guy Mariano also features his own signature line of pro model Girl skateboard decks and Lakai skate shoes.
