Born in Corbin, Kentucky Justin Brock grew up in Mt. Airy, North Carolina, the inspiration for the town Mayberry in the Andy Griffith Show as well as hometown of Andy Griffith. As a kid Justin Brock got into skateboarding because of friends who were riding. Following a series of independent films such as “Carolina Love” and “Southern Comfort” as well as a short role in the Southeastern montage in Nike SB’s “Nothing but the Truth”, Justin Brock turned pro in 2009. The announcement for his transition to a professional was a series of documentary styled videos produced by sponsors and aired on the Berrics website. In the same year Justin Brock had a role in Nike SB’s “Debacle” where he earned the respect of many for his difficult tricks and mastery of extremely challenging skate spots. His most recent role was in 2011 in Real Skateboard’s “Since Day One”.
Justin Brock generally spends his time focusing on filming and traveling with sponsors Nike SB and Real Skateboards, but occasionally competes in competitions. In the 2010 X Games Justin Brock competed in the Street section and finished 13th. Recently Justin Brock was part of Real Skateboard’s “Pushing” campaign which features a series of videos of Real Skateboarders returning to push their hometowns. In Justin Brock’s part for Real Skateboard he returns to North Carolina to shred the streets.
