With a seemingly effortless style and insane talent Luke Mitrani continues to push the limits in the halfpipe and superpipe throwing huge tricks like the double michalchuk and conquering podiums everywhere.
Born in 1990 Luke Mitrani grew up in Stratton, Vermont with his older brother Jack Mitrani, but has since left the east coast to call Mammoth home. Jake Mitrani is part of the Frends Crew, originally a group of snowboarders who shared the common interests of snowboarding and music, hosting a website to post videos and news. As time went on Frends decided to take their group to the next level and sell headphones. The reason behind the decision to market and sell Frends headphones was because of their common influences in music. Outside of snowboarding Jake Mitrani spends a lot of his time playing the guitar and skateboarding, and he recently took some time off from snowboarding and competitions to focus on other hobbies, but has since returned with a fresh take on the mountain and a list of new sponsors like Volcom and Dragon Eyewear.
A constant threat to the podiums Luke Mitrani competes in superpipe and halfpipe competitions around the world. In the 2011 Winter Dew Tour in Snowbasin, Utah Luke Mitrani moved up the rankings from seventh place to first place after his second run where he did a flawless double michalchuk, frontside 900 and frontside 1080. His near perfect run landed him a score of 97, the highest score for a single pipe run in the history of the Winter Dew Tour. In the same year Luke Mitrani took first in the halfpipe event at the US Grand Prix in Copper, Colorado. Luke Mitrani has also placed in other prestigious events such as the US Open where in 2009 he took third and the 2008 World Superpipe Championships where he placed fourth overall.
