Bio
Mikey Taylor is a skateboarder with both natural talent and dedication, and the combination has taken him far in his career. Skating events like Street League, hosting his own series “Mikey Days” on the Berrics website, and repping sponsors such as Alien Workshop Skateboards, DC Shoes, Spitfire, Mophie and Thunder Trucks, Mikey Taylor is the skateboarding epitome of devotion.
One of the many professionals from the Valley, Mikey Taylor was born and raised in Newbury Park, California. As soon as he started skateboarding he realized that it was something he wanted to do for the entirety of his life. By the time he was 18 years old many of his friends had become sponsored and the harsh realization of life in the real world began to set in. Not wanting to give up the dream of skateboarding professionally, Mikey Taylor worked hard and was able to finally get his first sponsor, later becoming a professional, though he has said if he didn’t become a professional skateboarder he might have been a lawyer because of his impeccable arguing skills.
Mikey Taylor has done a lot of work with video and film, with a more than entertaining demeanor Mikey hosts his own series on the Berrics website called “Mikey Days” where he films the regular happenings of him and his fellow skateboarders. Proving to be popular, Mikey Days has been running since 2010 and continues to air a several video clips monthly. Mikey Taylor has also been featured in video roles such as Alien Workshop’s Mindfield where his technical style of skating looks second natured. His most recent role was in the DC Rediscover campaign, which featured a series of videos highlighting the professionals on the DC Shoes skate team. DC’s Rediscover Mikey Taylor was released to the world in the summer of 2012 along with his signature skate shoe. Mikey Taylor was also one of the competitors recruited to join with 23 other skateboarders to compete in the first ever Street League pro tour. Three-time competitor Mikey Taylor has ranked within in the top ten in all three years Street League has been operating.
As part of legendary skate teams like Alien Workshop and DC Shoes, Mikey Taylor is living proof that a good work ethic and talent can go a long way. Hosting his own segment “Mikey Days” on the Berrics website and showing off his skills in his roles in films such as DC’s Rediscover Mikey Taylor and Alien Workshop’s Mindfiled, Mikey Taylor has turned his dreams into a reality, becoming what he is today through his passion and love for skateboarding.
