The rain couldn’t stop the Zumiez Couch Tour 2008 kick-off!

We kicked off The Zumiez Couch Tour 2008 in Seattle. After some extensive course drying, we ran the open qualifier for BFF. It’s always tough to do an invite-only comp because you feel like you left someone out off the mix. The guys that advance from the qualifiers ripped! Robby Repp was landing tons of tricks, Chris Baldwin had the smoothest style of the day. Danny Tumia had great flow, and last year’s winner Mike Patterson is even better than before with switch 270 front boards and a hurricane down the double set rail.

Top 3 ended up like this; 3rd went to Mike Ellis with a different bag of tricks than most like, blunt frontside flip, blunt shifty flip, Miller flip to disaster revert on the quarter that also named him the New Era Originator of the day, which gets him one years worth of New Era gear. 2nd went to Bryan Krasovetz landed backside flip to flat, back tail down the rail and huge nollie back 360s on the quarter. Ed Camp earned 1st place and the trip to Minneapolis for the Zumiez Best Foot Forward Am Contest Series presented by Boost Mobile Finals with front feebles and back lips down the rail, frontside flips down the double set, and back heels to flat. Thanks again to our sponsors for hooking up prizes, Boost Mobile, Boosted headphones, Lakai Footwear, and Transworld Skateboarding.
