Cruiser skateboards are essentially longboards that aren't as long (maybe the person who coined "cruiser board" just thought "short longboard" was too much of an oxymoron). Cruiser skateboards feature a lot of longboard components, like softer, bigger longboard wheels (for more asphalt grip), wider and quicker pivoting longboard trucks, and more flexible materials than standard skateboards. On a cruiser, you can do a lot of standard skateboard tricks, or you can bomb down hills like on a longboard. A lot of riders also pivot back and forth to propel forward on flats without pushing at all.
