When choosing a wheel the hardness or durometer is also of great importance. For those using long boards and cruisers, a considerably softer skateboard wheel (ranging from 78a up to 87a durometer) is preferred for an uber smooth ride, making it easier to navigate over large cracks and small pebbles on the riding surface, and having a better grip on the terrain.
