ZUMIEZ: What music have you been listening to?
BRANDON WESTGATE: The music that I have been listening to is The Avett Brothers. Leo (Romero) got me into it, I have been super hyped on it, and it’s one of my favorites.
ZUMIEZ: What is your next video project?
BRANDON WESTGATE: The next video project that I am working on is a video part for the next Element video.
ZUMIEZ: How does it feel to be on the Element team?
BRANDON WESTGATE: I landed on Element, and I am super stoked, and proud to be a part of the team. They got a really good team going on right now, and they do cool things that I like. They go camping a lot, and they got a sick skate camp that I just went to, and it was super fun, but yeah I am really hyped to be part of the team.
ZUMIEZ: What was the hardest trick to land in “Made Chapter One”?
BRANDON WESTGATE: The trick that I battled the most for in “Made Chapter One” was probably the tail slide kickflip in New York on the bump to yellow bar. The bump was just really hard to get a consistent pop and the spot was really crusty. It was also super hot, we tried to film it in the summer time, and I got heat stroke one time.
ZUMIEZ: How did the idea to Ollie a car come about?
BRANDON WESTGATE: (Jon) Miner has been trying to get me to Ollie over a car for a while now. But we just couldn’t find the right spot, and he thought of that spot. We put the car there, went for it, and it worked out.
