Zumiez: "Do you focus on versatility and riding different terrain in your video parts?"
Dan Brisse: "My goal every year is to get a well rounded video part that has both urban and back country footage. Basically got the idea from watching the Forum 8 dudes when I was younger back in Minnesota and each year that is the main goal, to have a well rounded video part."
Zumiez: "Who else does this well in urban and back country?"
Dan Brisse: "Right now some riders I think are doing well are Pat Moore, he's insane at back country and urban. Bode Merrill has so much talent it's ridiculous. Torstein Horgmo does well with both."
Zumiez: "How did your collab pro model come out?"
Dan Brisse: "Blue (Montgomery) had the idea, called up Volcom and Volcom was into the idea, and they both came together to do their part. Volcom designed the graphic and Capita designed the board, and I just rode it."
Zumiez: "How do you look at snowboarding now differently than you did 10 years ago?"
Dan Brisse: "I look at it pretty much the same as I did 10 years ago. It's something I love to do. It's really fun. You can be creative and do something different every year. You can improve every year. It hasn't really changed much to be honest."
Zumiez: "Coming from the Midwest were you intimidated by big mountain riding at first?"
Dan Brisse: "I had no idea what it would come to. I had no idea we'd be hitting some of the features we're hitting now. What's crazy about it is that I'm so used to it because I'm around it all the time but when I show photos to my brother or people who don't snowboard I can just tell when they're looking at it they're like 'dude, you're crazy!' like the idea of doing something like this, they can't even wrap their mind around it."
Zumiez: "What does it take to be at a pro level these days?"
Dan Brisse: "It takes a love for snowboarding I think. You just gotta love it. It's gotta be something you want to do every day all day long. If you love it enough you'll probably be getting paid to snowboard some day."
