With a focus on both street and park skateboarding, David Gravette is a versatile skateboarder with a smooth and clean style and will ride just about anything in his path. Throughout his career David Gravette has constantly battled injuries but still continues to push himself in both contests and video roles. From the rainy state David Gravette was born in 1988 and grew up in Issaquah, Washington and currently resides in Portland, Oregon. Skating the rain beaten and weathered streets and skateparks of Washington, David Gravette got his start in skateboarding after watching a vert demo. His first sponsor was a local board shop and he has since landed some of the most well known names in skateboarding such as Creature Skateboards, Volcom, Independent and Bones. Though David Gravette doesn’t generally focus on competitions, he is one of the few professional skateboarders to compete in both the Street and the Park section of the X Games. David Gravette has competed in the previous three years in the X Games with his best finish in the 2010 Street section where he took seventh place. In the 2012 Dew Tour David Gravette placed third out of 14 in Street Style.
David Gravette is most well known for his notable parts in skateboarding cinema. His relaxed demeanor, versatility and willingness to skate just about anywhere has landed him in parts like Bones’ “The Bones Video”, Independent’s “Beware of Sasquatch”, Thrasher Magazine’s “Prevent this Tragedy” and Transworld Magazine’s “And Now”. In all of his roles he continues to push himself demonstrating absolute control on hand rails and inside of bowls. Outside of contests and skateboarding films David Gravette often travels with teams like Volcom touring the country and different parts of the world as part of demos and tours.
