Zumiez: "Does your approach to riding change when you're shooting videos or photos?"
John Jackson: "You ride the same man. You ride it. You ride it. Whenever you ride, you ride hard, like if I'm by myself... usually I ride the best when I'm by myself. Nobody watching. Just me. You're always putting your all into riding. I guess that's what that shows.."
Zumiez: "What is your favorite place to ride?"
John Jackson: "Man. I'd probably say my favorite place to ride is Alaska. Alaska, on a sunny day. Good pow. Everythings a little different up there. You'll be looking like "yeah I think I can get in there" and then get up there and go "Holy shit! This is gnarly.""
Zumiez: "Who has the best vision of what snowboarding is about?"
John Jackson: "You'd probably think I'd say something typical like, the best snowboarder out there like Trav (Travis Rice) or something. I think the people who know exactly what snowboarding is about are the people who are trying to do a front 3 and fall on their face, or something you know? like the beginners. Just going out there and having a good time. Doing all kinds of different sports that you suck at, its a lot of fun. Like, the learning curve is really fun. Thats what its about. Pushing that sport, pushing your limits. Its not, when you're the best at something its cool but, its fun when you're trying to get there."
Zumiez: "Who goes bigger and gnarlier than you?"
John Jackson: "People ask you "whats the biggest you've gone"" and they look up to you but you can go "man, you've gone bigger than I have. Like you trying to hit that bottom jump and do that front 3, for where you're at, that was gnarly." What I may do may look super gnarly to you but to me I've done it a lot before and I've worked up to that level. To be able to do it. But its the same gnarliness factor if you're like pushing your limits in the same way at a trick that may look a lot easier but in your heart... its gnarly."
