Torstein Horgmo was born in 1987 and got his start on a snowboard when he was 12 years old. In 2004 he became sponsored, turning pro five years later joining some of the most recognized names in snowboarding like DC and Oakley. The 2009 season proved to be eventful for Torstein with a silver medal at the X Games Big Air and three wins at the Winter Dew Tour. Torstein’s 2010/2011 season went down in history as one of the best overall seasons with a gold medal in Big Air at the X Games after becoming the first snowboarder to do a triple cork and triple backflip 180 in a contest as well as clenching the Dew Tour Championship title. Proving to be a contender to the podiums, Torstein Horgmo has defeated some of the biggest names in snowboarding like Shaun White and Travis Rice.
Outside of the competition circuit Torstein Horgmo has been featured in a variety of snowboard movies including Standard’s films “TB20” and his ending role in “The Storming” as well as parts in DC’s “IT”, DC Shoes “This Is Snowboarding” and his online role “Torstein Horgmo Full Run At Northstar Remix” which became one of the top ten most viewed snowboard videos of 2010. One to stay on top of digital world fueled by the internet, Torstein launched his own website where he posts snowboarding footage and video blogs. In the fall of 2012 Torstein Horgmo released his solo documentary movie project “Horgasm: A Love Story” on iTunes. Two years in the making, “Horgasm: A Love Story” is a compilation of footage following Torstein snowboarding and his daily life in a video blog format.
