Starting in the early 1950’s, what was then known as Eastern Canvas Products was tasked with making high quality bags and safety equipment for the US Army. The 60’s came and went as production continued and millions of American GI’s proudly used their bags. But as the 70’s rolled around college kids across the nation began military type bags to carry their books around campus. In 1976, Eastpak was born and started producing specifically for the college market. By the mid 80’s, their bags were worn around the world. From the skaters to the jocks to the scholars there was an Eastpak bag for everyone. In 1985, they became the first brand to add flashy colors and fun designs to canvas bags. 2004 was the year of the brands first designer collaboration with Walter Van Beirendonck. The years since have seen a number of other collaborations worth mentioning, such as Raf Simmons, Jean Paul Gaultier, Timberland, among others. Hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, Eastpak brings over 60 years of experience, passion, and creativity to each bag.
