What are short shorts called?
Short shorts go by a few names - micro shorts, mini shorts, booty shorts, daisy dukes, or hot pants depending on the cut and style. True Religion's styles lean into that short shorts fit, while Ninth Hall offers micro shorts in cotton blend and polyester. The names are mostly interchangeable; it really just comes down to how short the inseam is.
What's the difference between shorts and short shorts?
Regular shorts typically hit mid-thigh or longer, while short shorts sit higher with an inseam of 2 inches or less - sometimes basically zero. The micro and mini styles from Ed Hardy and True Religion are cut to show off as much leg as possible, which is the whole point. If you want something in between, standard women's shorts cover more ground.
How are short shorts supposed to fit?
They should sit snug at the waist without digging in, with the leg openings lying flat against your thighs - no bunching or riding up more than intended. Denim styles from True Religion tend to run a little more structured, while cotton blend and polyester options from Ninth Hall have more stretch and flexibility. Size up if you're between sizes and want a looser waistband.
