Rusty

Founded in San Diego in 1985 by legendary surfboard shaper Rusty Preisendorfer, Rusty is a surf lifestyle brand built on authentic surf heritage and Southern California culture. What began with handcrafted performance surfboards quickly evolved into a global name recognized by surfers, skaters, musicians, and artists alike. Known for its iconic R-dot logo, Rusty blends surf-inspired apparel, graphic tees, hoodies, boardshorts, swimwear, and casual beachwear with a creative, rebellious spirit. More than four decades later, Rusty remains true to its roots, creating clothing influenced by creativity, coastal living, and the laid-back lifestyle of the California coast.

Who wears Rusty clothing?
Rusty apparel is designed for surfers, skaters, beachgoers, and anyone who appreciates relaxed Southern California style. The brand's mix of surf heritage and modern street-inspired design appeals both in and out of the water.
What makes Rusty different from other surf brands?
Rusty's foundation comes directly from legendary surfboard shaping rather than apparel alone. That authentic connection to surf craftsmanship, combined with its creative and artistic influences, helps distinguish the brand from many lifestyle-focused competitors.
Is Rusty good for everyday wear?
Yes. Rusty designs comfortable, versatile clothing that transitions easily from the beach to everyday life, featuring relaxed fits, graphic designs, and casual California-inspired styling.
