Women's puffer jackets from Stitch Fusion and Broken Promises - polyester and nylon shells built to actually block wind and hold heat when the temperature drops. You'll find cropped silhouettes, oversized fits, and longer cuts in black, green, and brown. If you're still figuring out your layering situation, check out our full range of women's jackets or go a different direction with women's fleece and sherpa jackets.
How are puffer jackets supposed to fit?
It depends on the look you're going for. Brands like Broken Promises tend to run with roomier, more relaxed cuts that work well layered over hoodies. If you want something more fitted, size down - puffer shells have enough structure to hold shape without feeling tight.
What's the difference between puffer jackets and insulated jackets?
Puffer jackets are technically a type of insulated jacket - the 'puffer' refers to the quilted, baffle-stitched construction that traps warm air in compartments. Insulated jackets is the broader category, which also includes styles with flat-fill or bonded linings that don't have that quilted look. Most of what you'll find here uses polyester fill inside a nylon or polyester shell.
How warm are puffer jackets?
Solid for fall and into early winter, especially if you're throwing a hoodie or thermal underneath. Polyester fill handles cold wind reasonably well and dries faster than down if the jacket gets wet. These aren't rated for deep winter conditions - if you're regularly dealing with temps well below freezing, you'll want something with a heavier fill weight or a dedicated cold-weather shell on top.
